Fun Stuff
This page is just for YOU! Use these free resources to play games, practice drills, and create conversation to help support the goals that your child is working so hard to accomplish! Your child will recieve awesome therapeutic intervention each week, however without caregiver support through carry-over and at-home activities, progress WILL BE MINIMAL and your child’s ability to generalize what she/he is learning into other outside environments will be greatly prohibited. Think about it – how much change would you notice in your own health if you only ate right and exercised 1 to 2 times each week for 30 minutes to an hour total? EXACTLY!
Make a schedule and stick with your plans! Use these resources to help support those plans! Every child should be participating in a minimum of 15-30 minutes of therapy-support each day. And most important? Keep it fun! Nobody wants to feel pushed or forced to participate in tasks they already are weak in performing. So make a game of it! Involve siblings and caregivers! “How do we come up with 20 minutes a day to do this?!” Simple- start making use of your down-time… how many minutes are you stuck in carpool with your little one? How many commercial breaks come on during your child’s favorite tv show? What exactly are you doing while stopped at red lights? Standing in line at Kroger? You get it – you DO have time for what you make time for.. so put the value and investment into this process that is equal to the results you want to see. Support one another by playing go-fish with targeted sounds, guessing games for vocabulary building, wh-bingo to practice processing those where/what/when/why questions! Your only limit is your imagination, and hopefully these resources can help with that! Have fun!
